Blue Rose
Blue Rose is a learning and activity centre for children in the age group of 4 to 12 years with developmental disabilities and special needs.
Special needs are any of the difficulties that interfere with a child’s ability to grow and hence learning may be altered or delayed compared to other students. These difficulties could be learning, developmental, emotional, behavioural or physical disabilities or impairment. Children with Down’s syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit/Hyper Activity Disorder (ADHD), Language and Learning Disorder are some of the children requiring such special personalized attention.
Based on the specific requirement of the child, an Idividual Education Plan is designed for each child. Blue rose offers one to one learning in a classroom environment and group learning with smaller groups requiring such personalized attention. All such learning is provided through:
- Special Educators (Specially trained teachers)
- Craft and Drawing Teachers
- Music and Dance Teachers
- Clinical Psychologist
- Behavioral Psychologist
- Parent & Child Counsellors
- Speech Therapists
- Trained Volunteers
In addition to developing language, learning, behavior and physical skills, the Centre also provides various skill building activities to help in the child’s overall development like craft, music, dance, yoga, singing and self-help activities.
Fact Sheet
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is used to describe several neuro developmental conditions. Autism may usually be diagnosed early as it includes a noticeable delay in a child’s ability to communicate and interact with others, and a child’s ability to think, move or process information and can also include repetitive behavior. Since every autistic person is unique and with special needs, the Blue Rose Centre for Autism focuses on the individual needs of these children providing learning and therapy to help the child to communicate and develop socially alongwith activities for daily living. Such learning and therapy is provided by special educators and therapists.
NASEOH (Gujarat) has also started the Blue Rose Pre-Vocational Centre for children with developmental disabilities over the age of 12 years, to teach and train these children to make articles and things out of paper (bags, envelopes, photo frames, etc.), beads and stone jewellery, etc. The children also learn how to cook and bake food items. The aim of this Centre is to provide the children an understanding of how to participate in the community and a possible means of earning a livelihood.
