Kalrav

KALRAV an early intervention center undertakes assessment and treatment of children with developmental delay between the age of one month and 6 years. Kalrav addresses the problem of developmental delay in children by providing a comprehensive multi-disciplinary care by housing the entire range of required professionals under one roof in an atmosphere of care and compassion which helps to stimulates mental, developmental as well as physical growth.

Statistically, about 2 (two) children per 1000 children are afflicted by either cerebral palsy or some form of developmental delay, which means that at least one million children have cerebral palsy or developmental delay in India.

Development delay in common parlance comprises of genetical and non-genetical causes and can be in the form of mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, aspergers syndrome, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia etc. Non-genetical developmental delay mainly in the form of Cerebral Palsy can be diagnosed at an early stage and effective treatment if provided at such an early stage can help in making affected children self reliant and improve their quality of life also. The treatment of such children is long drawn and may run into many years creating a financial burden on the parents thus necessitating a need for early intervention centre like Kalrav which treats children suffering from cerebral palsy and any form of developmental delay like,

  • Asperger's Syndrome
  • Mental Retardation
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Kalrav is one of the few centres in the State which provides a complete and comprehensive treatment for children with the above mentioned disabilities. Kalrav has an inhouse panel of medical and paramedical professionals comprising of:

At Kalrav, after a comprehensive assessment of the child, a treatment plan based on a unique assessment system- HELP (Hawaii Early Learning Profile) developed by a team of expert from the school of public health, University of Hawaii. The treatment to the child consists of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, speech therapy, sensory organization and play therapy. On an average about 45 children visit Kalrav every day for various treatments and about 75 to 100 assessment and therapy appointments are given to them.

Currently there are about 150 children receiving treatment at NASEOH (Gujarat) through Kalrav.
